We specialize in mobile rock crushing operations, bringing our equipment directly to job sites to serve mining, construction, and aggregate production clients across the region. Position Overview We are hiring an experienced Lead Crusher Operator to join our field team. In this role, you will take ownership of crushing plant setup, operation, and shutdown at active surface mining sites throughout our service area. Jobs are field-based and require travel — primarily within about 100 miles of the Bitterroot. When overnight or extended travel is required, the company provides housing at no cost to you. As the Lead Operator, you will be the go-to person on-site for the crusher and are expected to bring both technical skill and a strong safety mindset every day. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and shut down mobile crushing equipment at surface mining job sites Monitor crusher performance and make real-time adjustments to optimize production and output quality Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections; identify and report mechanical issues Coordinate with site supervisors and crew to ensure smooth, safe operations Oversee and mentor junior crew members on crusher operation and site safety Ensure all work is performed in compliance with MSHA Part 46 regulations and company safety policies Assist with equipment transport, mobilization, and site preparation Maintain accurate shift records, production logs, and equipment inspection reports Communicate proactively about site conditions, equipment status, and production progress Requirements Current MSHA Part 46 Annual Refresher Training — required; must be able to provide documentation Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, or similar equipment Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot crusher performance issues in the field Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to operate and tow heavy equipment trailers preferred Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including standing, lifting, and working around heavy equipment Strong safety awareness and commitment to MSHA compliance at all times Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of leading on-site without constant supervision Preferred Qualifications Experience with mobile crushing plants and multi-stage crushing circuits Familiarity with aggregate screening and conveyor systems CDL (Class A or B) is a plus Prior experience in a Lead or Foreman role on mining or aggregate job sites Basic mechanical aptitude — ability to assist with minor maintenance and repairs What We Offer Competitive wages commensurate with experience Company-provided housing when working out of town — no out-of-pocket lodging costs Work close to home — the majority of jobs are within 100 miles of the Bitterroot Valley Small, experienced crew where your work is seen and valued Stable, growing company with consistent work in the surface mining sector Opportunity to grow into a senior leadership role as the company expands How to Apply Submit your resume along with a brief summary of your crushing experience and your MSHA Part 46 certification status.
