$21.96/hour Job Overview Advancing Opportunities, an affiliate of Apis Services , is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team at the Alberta Group Home in Toms River, NJ , supporting adults with intellectual disabilities. As a Lead DSP, you will work closely with Group Home Managers to ensure high-quality care, compliance with standards, and smooth communication with guardians, healthcare providers, and community agencies. Our Mission To achieve full societal participation for all people with disabilities. Responsibilities Lead DSPs provide guidance, supervision, and mentorship to residents and DSP staff while supporting the daily operations of the group home.Responsibilities include:
Collaborate with Group Home Managers to ensure all aspects of care meet program standards Communicate effectively with guardians, doctors, and community agencies Provide direct care and support to residents, including: Daily living skills (cooking, housekeeping, hygiene) Health and wellness (personal medical care, healthy living) Community participation (shopping, recreation, outings) Social and emotional development (coping skills, communication, friendships) Budgeting and money management Mentor and provide guidance to DSP staff Maintain accurate documentation and comply with agency policies and procedures Promote independence, dignity, and autonomy for residents Qualifications 21 years or older High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license 3 years experience as a DSP with behavioral clients 1 year of lead/supervisory experience preferred Ability to successfully complete: State and Federal criminal background checks Drug screening Pre-employment physical and PPD Willingness to complete all required orientation and pre-service training Why Work for Advancing Opportunities?All Employees Receive:
