Job Description

Job description: Job Summary We have an exciting opening for a Lead Engineer / Designer who will not only lead our Engineering Department but will also be very hands-on in the design / drafting process.
Essential Functions:
  • Create manufacturing drawings based off customer specs using Auto CAD and Inventor software.
  • Will lead a team of design engineers who also create technical drawings for manufacturing of our rubber and polyurethane components.
  • Checks manufacturing drawings for accuracy and supplies feedback to engineering staff
  • Provides insight to engineering team on real-world use and application of our products.
  • Delegates various engineering related tasks to the engineering team to create a fully rounded training experience.
  • Fields customer requests and questions on the application of our products in the field.
  • Creates custom proposal drawings in CAD for customers to visualize what our parts will look like and fit into their equipment.
  • Travels with direct sales and distributors on an as needed basis to gather technical information for design purposes and for troubleshooting applications on customer sites.
  • Reviews all orders as they come in to ensure all the technical information is accurate prior to going into design or manufacturing.
  • Identifies existing parts already in our ERP system that can be used on new orders to reduce the redundancy of designing the same part multiple times.
  • Make recommendations to internal staff and outside customers on the best products to use in various applications.
  • Drives research and development within the engineering group to create new products and / processes.
  • Help trainees become acclimated to the company culture, processes, and procedures.
  • Works in parallel with the production team to ensure our designs are creating the most cost-effective components by reducing production times and requirements for new tooling.
  • Will oversee high priority and / or large-scale projects to ensure we meet our KPI's and on time deliveries.
  • Provides weekly updates to the production staff on the status of various orders currently in engineering and estimated completion dates. Education (Preferred)
  • Bachelors or graduates' degree in business, computer science, engineering or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting with an understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and ERP software (JobBoss
  • preferred)
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and cross-functional team collaboration and development.
Expected Hours of Work:
Full time 1st Shift, Monday
  • Friday with occasional travel as required and occasional overnight stays as needed.
$10,000.00 Sign on Bonus after 1 year of
