$20.00 - $24.00 per hour Lead Kennel Technician Job Overview Join our dynamic team as a Lead Kennel Technician and play a key leadership role in providing exceptional animal care, facility organization, and team support in a fast-paced professional environment. This position is responsible not only for maintaining high standards of kennel care and sanitation, but also for helping oversee daily kennel operations, supporting staff accountability, and ensuring consistency in care protocols. The ideal candidate is confident handling dogs of all temperaments, leads by example, communicates professionally, and thrives in a structured environment focused on safety, behavioral development, and operational excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role with opportunities for continued growth within the company. About Coastal Pines K9 Coastal Pines K9 is a structured dog training and enrichment facility focused on safety, behavioral development, and professional animal care. We are not a daycare. We operate with systems, standards, accountability, and teamwork.

Position Overview The Lead Kennel Technician is responsible for overseeing the enrichment care program, monitoring, sanitation, and operational flow of dogs in our boarding and enrichment programs while helping guide kennel staff during shifts. This is a physically active leadership position requiring consistency, urgency, strong communication skills, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Provide daily care for dogs including feeding, watering, exercising, enrichment, and medication administration as directed Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, yards, crates, and common areas Safely handle dogs using proper restraint and behavioral management techniques Monitor dog behavior, health, and overall wellbeing throughout the day Assist with bathing, brushing, nail trims, and basic grooming needs Support trainers and management with daily operational needs Help lead kennel staff by maintaining workflow, accountability, and efficiency during shifts Ensure company procedures and safety standards are consistently followed Communicate professionally with clients regarding their dogs when needed Assist with opening and closing procedures and facility organization Maintain accurate feeding, medication, and behavior records Requirements Prior professional dog handling, kennel, boarding, daycare, veterinary, or training experience required Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred Strong understanding of canine behavior and safe handling practices Ability to work independently while also leading within a team environment Comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced setting Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and working on your feet for extended periods Excellent communication and customer service skills Dependable, punctual, detail-oriented, and professional Comfortable working in loud environments and all weather conditions Must have reliable transportation Ideal Candidate ✔ Calm under pressure ✔ Leadership mentality ✔ Team-oriented ✔ Physically capable ✔ Takes initiative without constant supervision ✔ Holds high standards for cleanliness and organization ✔ Comfortable handling responsibility and problem-solving in real time Benefits 401(k) Employee discount Flexible schedule Flexible spending account On-the-job training Opportunities for advancement Paid time off Paid training Parental leave Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Education High school diploma or equivalent preferred License/Certification Driver's License preferred Shift Availability Day Shift (Required) Mid Shift (Required) Evening Shift (Required)
