Responsibilities Lead food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring dishes meet quality and presentation standards. Supervise and mentor line cooks and kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional growth. Oversee menu planning in collaboration with the executive chef, incorporating dietary considerations and seasonal ingredients. Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures. Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and optimal customer satisfaction. Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor stock to minimize waste while maintaining freshness. Assist in training new team members on culinary techniques, knife skills, and food industry best practices. Requirements Proven experience in restaurant kitchens with a focus on fine dining or upscale service environments. Strong culinary background with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal presentation. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide kitchen staff effectively. Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking methods. Familiarity with food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Experience in menu planning, catering, and large-scale meal preparation preferred. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
