Job Description
Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Lead Mammography Technologist to join our dynamic imaging team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the mammography department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional diagnostic imaging services with precision and compassion. Your leadership will inspire excellence in patient care, uphold safety standards, and foster a collaborative environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your advanced technical expertise in mammography while contributing to life-saving diagnostics in a fast-paced healthcare setting. Duties Lead and coordinate all mammography procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and industry standards. Supervise and mentor radiologic technologists and support staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth. Perform high-quality mammograms, including digital and 3D imaging, with meticulous attention to detail for accurate diagnosis. Oversee scheduling, workflow management, and quality assurance processes within the mammography department. Collaborate with radiologists and physicians to facilitate diagnostic evaluations, including PET scans, DEXA scans, X-ray, CT, ultrasound (sonography), nuclear medicine, and other medical imaging modalities. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as Aseptic techniques and medical terminology standards. Maintain detailed documentation of procedures, patient records, and departmental reports while upholding patient confidentiality. Skills Extensive knowledge of mammography techniques, including digital breast tomosynthesis (3D mammography). Proficiency in operating advanced imaging equipment such as PET scans, DEXA scans, CT scanners, ultrasound (sonography), and X-ray machines. Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles. Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma centers with emergency room exposure is highly desirable. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluation across multiple modalities including nuclear medicine and urgent care settings. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train staff on aseptic techniques and safety procedures. Familiarity with emergency medicine protocols and experience in high-pressure environments such as emergency rooms or trauma centers is advantageous.
