Description of the
Position:
Responsible for providing direction to Forklift Operators, training, assigning work, and resolvingproblems within area of responsibility. Operates gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-poweredindustrial equipment equipped with lifting devices, such as sit-down, stand-up, clamp or otherelevating equipment to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materialsfrom rail cars in distribution center or storage yard.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports and trains newly hired forklift operators within their area of responsibility.
  • Assists supervisors and management of the facility in planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Load, unload, move, stock, and stage products and materials using powered industrialequipment. Maintain equipment and materials in a neat, clean and orderly fashion. On adaily basis, inspect assigned equipment. Operate all equipment in a safe and efficientmanner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
  • Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Efficiently stackand store product in the appropriate areas.
  • Pull and prepare products for shipment, ensuring the exact number and types of productsare loaded and shipped.
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers, orcontainers.
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
  • Inventories materials on work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Follow customer requirements and/or other instructions to ensure accuracy: load count, stability of product, and that all products are loaded and unloaded safely.
  • Coordinate as necessary with all other departments/functions, especially Customer Service, Transportation and Maintenance.
  • Perform good housekeeping practices, clean as you go process.
  • Conduct operations and equipment in a manner that promotes safety and report unsafe conditions that can't be self-corrected to the leadership team.
  • Follow corporate and site-specific Good Manufacturing Practices and report noncompliance when observed.
  • Observe all company safety rules and assist in enforcement as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Hours:
Sunday- Thursday 11:00pm to 7:00am
Salary:
$22.00hr plus $2.00/hr shift differential
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one or more years of relatedexperience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Forklift experience (Sit down forklift).
  • Must be able to successfully complete post-hire assessments.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain equipment certifications (e.g. OSHA, company, etc.).
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment appropriate for the work environment(e.
g. protective footwear, protective eyewear, gloves, etc.) in accordance with safetypolicies.
