Lead Painter

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Painter to spearhead painting projects across residential, commercial, and renovation sites. As a vital leader on our team, you will oversee a painting crew, ensure high-quality craftsmanship, and uphold safety standards on construction sites. Your expertise in various painting techniques and construction processes will drive the successful completion of projects that transform spaces and exceed client expectations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead with energy, precision, and a passion for craftsmanship. We are not a painting company exclusively so a strong candidate will have a strong background in high end remodeling as well as you will be expected to be efficient in other trades when painting is on hold between projects. Duties Lead and coordinate a painting team on construction and renovation projects, ensuring timely and efficient completion. Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, mudding, caulking, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion. Execute residential and commercial painting using hand tools, airless paint spraying equipment, and power tools to achieve smooth finishes. Read blueprints, schematics, and detailed schematics to accurately determine project scope and specifications. Manage surface preparation tasks such as drywall installation, trim carpentry, and fixture installation as needed. Conduct quality inspections throughout projects to maintain high standards of craftsmanship while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with project managers and clients to estimate project costs using construction estimating skills and provide accurate timelines for completion. Requirements Proven experience in construction painting, including residential, commercial, industrial painting, and restoration projects. Strong knowledge of color theory to select appropriate paints and finishes for various environments. Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, airless paint sprayers, welding equipment, and other relevant machinery. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with construction site safety practices and experience working on active construction sites. Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and estimating project needs. Experience with drywall repairs, caulking, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, remodeling, fixture installation, welding, maintenance tasks, and handyman duties is highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
