  • Full-time Job Summary We are a small, family run painting company, looking for a skilled and experienced Lead Painter to join our team.
Our projects tend to be upper-end custom homes with the occasional commercial property. We value quality over quantity. We treat our team well, take care of our clients, have excellent reviews and enjoy what we do. Our team members have said they really enjoy working for our company because we care about them as individuals. Again this is a small company and you will be working with one or two other painters in a skilled, but easy going environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custom residential painting and be proficient in various painting techniques and tools. As a Lead Painter, you will oversee painting projects from start to finish, be the main painter, ensuring high-quality finishes while maintaining safety and efficiency on the job site. This role requires good communication skills, attention to detail, good time management skills, excellent painting skills, and the ability to calmly work well with other painters. You will communicate with us on project specifications, progress, supply needs and challenges you need support with on a daily or weekly basis. Duties Supervise and coordinate painting projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards. You are a supervisor, but you will also be our lead painter and may do a lot of the spraying, depending on the strength of skill of the crew. Keeping the project, the van, and the equipment in clean working order, guiding the other painters through example and delegation. Prepare surfaces for painting by pressure washing, peeling/scraping, caulking, sanding and applying primers as necessary. Apply paint, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Prepping is a big deal for us, we like areas masked, tarped, vehicles moved from the area, all vegetation covered. If there is wind, make sure all areas are tarped or stop until wind dies to avoid over spray. Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and if there are equipment challenges communication with us on getting them fixed or replaced immediately.
  • Requirements You will need a Drivers License, as you will drive the company van.
Know how to use a sprayer, including cleaning it daily. Know how to use a pressure washer correctly, including on stain areas so as not to laser them. Can carry up to 5 gallons. Can use a hand masker. Can trim a line. Can use a roller. Can paint interior ceilings and walls without lines. Proficiency in using hand tools related to painting and staining, and know how to clean them at end of each day. Can use caulking, texture sprays applying the correct texture to the existing wall texture, can do small drywall repairs, filling all types of holes and sanding or wiping to a flat plane. Prepping trim/doors by buffing, wiping clean, filing nail holes properly, either spraying or brushing trim correctly. Can brush/roll or spray doors. Know how to properly mask doors to spray. Can remove door hardware and replace after dried. Can remove garage door decorative hardware if necessary and replace when done. Staining without lines or overlap on decks and siding. Proven experience in residential painting with a strong portfolio of completed projects. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment. Join us as we create beautiful spaces through expert skill!
