  • will oversee and drive the technical execution of an early‑stage concepts build‑out team within the UPS.

This role is responsible for translating abstract ideas, business hypotheses, and emerging opportunities into tangible technical prototypes, proofs of concept (POCs), and scalable foundations. The Lead Engineer partners closely with product, design, and business stakeholders to rapidly validate concepts while establishing sound engineering patterns for future productionization.
  • Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership
  • + Lead the end‑to‑end technical development of new concepts, prototypes, and experimental solutions + Define technical approaches, architectures, and frameworks appropriate for rapid iteration and validation + Ensure code quality, maintainability, and security while balancing speed and experimentation + This is a hands-on development and engineering position with significant coding out output expected.
  • Team Leadership & Execution
  • + Lead, mentor, and coach engineers within the concepts build‑out team or other engineering teams + Partners with other engineering teams in Mobile, Web, and Backend teams + Establish development standards, tooling, and best practices suited for experimental work + Drive sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery for concept initiatives + Act as hands‑on contributor while guiding team execution and unblocking issues •Cross‑Functional Collaboration•+ Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and Business Leaders to shape solution scope and feasibility + Translate business goals and customer problems into technical solutions + Provide clear technical guidance and trade‑offs to stakeholders + Present concepts, demos, and technical recommendations to leadership •Innovation & Strategy•+ Evaluate emerging technologies, APIs, platforms, and frameworks for applicability to new concepts + Identify opportunities to reuse or extend concepts into scalable products + Help define criteria for concept success and readiness for production handoff + Influence the long‑term technical vision for innovation and experimentation •What Success Looks Like•+ Concepts move quickly from idea to working prototype + Cross‑functional teams have clear technical direction and confidence in feasibility + Prototypes are built with intent and can be evolved into production solutions + Leadership has clarity on technical risks, opportunities, and next steps •Required Qualifications•+ 7+ years of professional software engineering experience + Must have excellent hands-on engineering skills, ability to build out concepts, ability to adapt and learn quickly + Knowledge of GenAI concepts and tools (ie.
LangGraph, MCP, Agent 2 Agent). Must demonstrate ability to quickly obtain advance knowledge + Strong experience designing and building prototypes, POCs, or greenfield solutions and delivering to production + Proficiency in modern application development (e.g., web, mobile, APIs, cloud‑based systems) + Strong architectural judgment with the ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability + Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across disciplines + Proven experience leading technical initiatives or small engineering teams + Bachelor's degree in product design, technology or related field

g., GCP) and modern DevOps practices + Experience with rapid experimentation methodologies (MVPs, lean validation, feature flagging) + Background in customer facing digital platforms (web or mobile) serving millions of customers daily + Experience transitioning concepts into production‑ready products + Experience in Mobile Development + This job is a grade 30G +
Work Location:
Will consider candidates in Louisville, KY, Parsippany, NJ and Alpharetta, GA. Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job or willing to relocate yourself _Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from$119,040/year to $220,560/year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to, market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and education/training and a candidate's work experience. Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
