is looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Water & Fire Mitigation Technician to join our team. We are a growing restoration company specializing in water damage mitigation, fire/smoke damage cleanup, structural drying, demolition, odor control, and emergency response services. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, can lead jobs in the field, communicate professionally with customers, and help keep projects moving the right way from start to finish. Position Summary The Lead Water & Fire Mitigation Technician will be responsible for performing and leading mitigation work on residential and commercial losses. This includes water extraction, demolition, structural drying, fire/smoke cleanup, equipment setup, documentation support, and jobsite organization. This is a hands-on field position for someone with real restoration experience who can work independently, lead helpers when needed, and represent the company professionally with homeowners, adjusters, and trade partners. Responsibilities Lead water damage mitigation jobs from start to finish Perform water extraction, demolition, drying setup, and daily monitoring Remove affected materials such as flooring, drywall, cabinets, insulation, and trim when necessary Set up and monitor air movers, dehumidifiers, containment, air scrubbers, and specialty drying equipment Assist with fire, smoke, soot, and odor mitigation projects Perform HEPA vacuuming, cleaning, deodorization, and demolition on fire/smoke losses Take jobsite photos, moisture readings, and basic job notes Communicate clearly with customers and office/management Keep jobsites clean, organized, and safe Load, unload, clean, and maintain company equipment Help train and lead helpers or newer technicians Follow company procedures, safety standards, and industry best practices Requirements Prior water damage mitigation experience required Fire/smoke mitigation experience preferred Must be motivated, reliable, and able to work without constant supervision Must be able to pass a background check Must have a good driving record Valid driver's license required Ability to lift, carry, demo, crawl, climb, and work in tight spaces when needed Must be professional with customers and team members Must be available for emergency work and occasional after-hours jobs IICRC certifications are a plus, especially WRT, ASD, FSRT, or OCT Ideal Candidate The right person for this position has restoration experience, understands how to work clean and efficiently, and wants to grow with a company. We need someone who is not afraid of hard work, can take ownership of jobs, and wants to be part of building something strong. You should be able to walk into a water loss, understand what needs to happen, set equipment properly, document the job, communicate with the customer, and keep the project moving. Compensation Pay is based on experience, certifications, and ability.
