Lead Welder Fabricator

BOE Job Description :

Fit and weld parts to form complete units or sub-units, following weld specifications, and using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools. Must be able to read drawings and perform the tasks assigned. Must be able to pass the welding test provided prior to entering in to this position. Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, measuring tapes, and gauges. Fit and welds fitted parts together. Aligns and welds parts together according to specifications by using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes, or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting. Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes.

Other Responsibilities:

Communicate job status to Fabrication Manager per job basis Prepares work to be accomplished by studying shop drawings and parts lists; gathering materials and tools. Able to read and recognize weld symbols on supplied drawings or documents and pass assessment for weld joints and symbols Able to apply an acceptable weld according to specifications provided Tag and identify finished product per job, quantities, locations, etc. per the production documentation. Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • screw/nut driver, wrenches and sockets, rubber mallets, cordless drills, grinders, sanders, files, clamps Power Tools
• MIG welder, TIG Weld, stud welder, drill, grinder Measuring Tools
• dial indicators, tape measures, straight edge/scale rulers, combination squares, levels, surface gauges, weld gauge Forklift and overhead crane.

Qualifications & Education:

Appropriate trade school certification a plus Experience & Job Training Two-three years of experience in a metal fabrication shop. Hold a minimum of (1) certification
