This is a full-time, in-person, opportunity for a Lecturer to facilitate undergraduate courses in the fields of Finance and Economics. A successful candidate should possess the ability to engage thought, encourage questions, and guide meaningful application of content presented within the classroom both to individual students and the collective group of learners. The required teaching load is 24-28 credits/year, and for this position would include a range of subject matters in the disciplines of Finance and Economics.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach in-person undergraduate courses as assigned by the Department Chair, predominantly in the disciplines of Finance and Economics. Maintain a sufficient presence on campus to support students, departmental initiatives, and other faculty initiatives as they arise. Prepare syllabi according to the University/Department guidelines provided. Compile, administer, and grade all homework assignments, projects, papers, and exams needed to promote comprehensive learning of the subject matter(s) presented. Present course content, assignments, and other supporting materials relevant to the course on the Learning Management System (LMS) to allow for easy student access. Provide multiple graded artifacts (assignments, projects, exams) for the assessment of the course materials. And prepare written feedback of how each course met various student learning outcomes on the system of record communicated. Regularly meet with, and provide academic guidance and enrollment assistance, to all student advisees assigned, to ensure efficient and successful progression through the degree program(s). Engage in professional development in the disciplines of Finance and Economics on a consistent basis. Support and contribute to Department initiatives set forth to enhance student learning and faculty development.QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Finance/Economics disciplines. Prior teaching experience in a University/College setting and/or commensurate clinical experience in the field of Finance/Economics. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment and requires a flexible schedule. Occasional travel for conferences of other departmental administrative work is expected. The employee is subject to inside environmental conditions - protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate lifting up to 20 pounds as frequently as needed to move objects; dexterity to write and manipulate computer keyboard and mouse; ability to hear and speak clearly; and body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend and reach.APPLICATION GUIDELINES
