Consider joining the Nevada County District Attorney's Office as a Legal Office Assistant I/II. We're seeking a motivated, detail-oriented individual to become part of our fast-paced team. As a critical member of the District Attorney team, the Legal Office Assistant helps support the pursuit of justice by: Providing professional customer service at the front desk, including greeting visitors, answering calls, scheduling appointments, processing mail, and helping maintain office security Receiving and entering law enforcement reports into the case management system Managing digital evidence and preparing discovery materials for defense counsel Collaborating with the Probation Department to support accurate information exchange for pre-trial services and court reporting Organizing and managing prosecution-related documents Assisting with witness coordination during court proceedings and responding to public information requests This is an opportunity to play an important role in public service while building a rewarding career in the legal field. Level I :
Graduation from high school or possession of a GED or high school proficiency certificate and two years of responsible clerical and staff support experience. LOA-Is assigned to some offices must complete P.O.S.T. law enforcement clerk course and California Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (CLETS) certification within one year of hire.
Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire. A valid Class C driver's license must be maintained throughout employment in this class to perform the essential functions of the position. Some positions may require typing at a net rate of 40 wpm. Completion of P.O.S.T. law enforcement clerk course (e.g., Basic Law Enforcement Records Course) within one year of hire, as noted on the job announcement. CLETS training certification required for certain positions within first 90 days of hire.
