Job Summary The Lending Support Specialist assists the Lending Support Officer(s) with all activities related to the collection of troubled loans and the maintenance and sale of bank assets. This role also assists with documentation and reports related to troubled loans and ordering and reviewing appraisals and in-house evaluations up to $250,000. This position works onsite in any Southern Bancorp location. Responsibilities Assists with collection/liquidation of troubled loans Assists in locating and retrieving collateral through contact with customers, legal representatives and collection vendors Monitors and inspects repossessed assets and foreclosed real estate, including obtaining and maintaining related documentation Coordinates sale of bank of assets and other collection and recovery activities to secure maximum recovery for the bank Orders appraisals and reviews appraisals and in-house evaluations for transactions up to $250,000 Assists in preparation of management and Board of Director reports related to troubled assets Participates in a team effort to cross-sell other services of the bank Assist with monitoring and inspection of repossessions and ORE property Complete all required training. Perform other duties as required or assigned Requirements High School Diploma and 2 years' experience in banking, real estate, appraisal, or collections Ability to effectively and professionally communicate verbally and in writing Ability to organize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines Ability to exercise good judgment and resourcefully solve problems Ability to comprehend written material and perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
