Level II NDT Technician 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Broussard, LA Full-time Oceaneering 899 reviews Full-time Position Summary and Location The NDT Technician will perform industrial inspections support onshore/offshore of piping, pipelines, pressure vessels, and mechanical and structural components, and other inspection-related duties. This position requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and detailed documentation of inspection results. This position involves frequent travel to client sites, manufacturing facilities, and offshore locations to perform inspections and support project objectives. While most travel will be domestic, occasional international assignments may be required. As an on-call role, it demands flexibility and readiness to travel by vessel or aircraft, often on short notice. Candidates must be prepared to work in dynamic, remote, and potentially challenging environments. Qualifications
REQUIRED
Minimum two (2) years of documented NDT Level II work experience. Must be Level II certified in Radiography, Magnetic Particle, Visual, Ultrasonic Thickness, Dye Penetrant Testing methods and able to provide signed OJT, proof of Classroom hours, and Level II Certifications. Must meet company certification requirements. Must hold a valid driver's license. Must possess or be able to obtain a TWIC card, valid Passport, SafeGulf & HUET Water Survival certification. Ability to work offshore and onshore, including extended periods in remote locations. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed. Must successfully complete a Respiratory Fit Test, administered by OII, for work in H ₂ S environments and confined spaces. Candidates must be clean-shaven prior to testing to ensure proper mask seal and compliance. DESIRED Minimum two (2) years related NDT experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferred) Experience working offshore and in confined spaces. Thickness, MT, RT, PT Certified (preferred) High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Basic computer knowledge in Microsoft Word and Excel Basic understanding of NDT methods and principles. Strong attention to details and commitment to safety. which is characterized as follows. Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Frequently the humidity is above 90%, noise is over 85 decibels and the light is intense/glare. Potential exposure to open fire/flames/sparks. Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Work surface is stable, height is elevated. Operate a motor vehicle Lift 10-20 pounds Standing and walking Wear PPE for body, vision, and hearing protection Duties and Responsibilities Assist NDT Level I and II Technicians in performing inspections using various NDT methods. Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for inspection tasks. Work alongside diving contractors or independently to conduct inspections and surveys of offshore structures, vessels, and pipelines. Perform cathodic protection surveys on offshore assets to assess corrosion control effectiveness. Utilize rope access techniques to safely reach and inspect offshore structures, equipment, and components. Employ camera, video, and written documentation methods to record inspection and survey findings. Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project and industry standards. Support general inspection and maintenance tasks as assigned by supervisors. Use, maintain, and inspect rope access and NDT equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with safety regulations. Adhere strictly to offshore safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and active participation in safety drills. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient task execution. Generate inspection reports using various computer software applications. Participate in ongoing training, certification renewals, and professional development to remain current with industry standards and best practices. Assist in training and supervising Level l's and other NDT trainees. Conduct tests with Radiographic Testing equipment for various components and materials. Conduct tests in other NDT methods. Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results through formal report paperwork. Set up and calibrate inspection equipment. Responsible for operation of radiography in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, paying special attention to health and safety policies. Performs additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support organizational objectives.
