Summary of Position:

The LGBTQ+ Resource Center Student Employee supports the daily operations, programs, and outreach efforts of the Resource Center while helping create a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. This position assists with event planning, peer engagement, office operations, and educational initiatives related to LGBTQ+ identity, equity, and inclusion.

Position Requirements:

• Interest in LGBTQ+ advocacy, inclusion, student engagement, or social justice work
• Current enrolled student in good academic standing
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities
• Dependable, organized, and able to manage responsibilities independently
• Basic computer skills including email, word processing, and social media platforms

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet students and assist them with accessing the resources that the LGBTQ+ resource center offers
• Be a point of contact for students visiting the center when the LGBTQ+ program coordinator is not available
• Assist with the design and implementation of programs hosted by the center
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office and lounge environment
• Support social media, marketing, and outreach efforts through flyers, digital content, and tabling events
