Organization:
The mission of the Charles Waddell Chesnutt Library is to support the University in its educational, research, and cultural endeavors through careful selection, acquisition, organization, and interpretation of information resources. In addition, the Chesnutt Library assumes its unique role as a significant cultural resource for the community and the region at large. Primary Purpose of the
Position:
The Head of Reference Librarian provides leadership in developing and implementing library reference and outreach services, library instruction, collection development, and other related public services initiatives. The incumbent works with the Director of Library Services and the Head of Public Services to implement strategic initiatives for public services, reference, and instruction at the Chesnutt Library. This position reports to the Head of Public Services.
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements:
ALA-Accredited Master's degree in Library and Information Science. Three years professional experience in Academic Libraries Experience with Reference Services and Information / Digital Literacy Ability to work well with diverse populations. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities:
Preferred Qualifications:
Reference experience in an academic library. Knowledge of emerging trends in academic libraries. Familiarity with academic research resources and tools.
