Job Description

Turf Program/IPM Specialist The primary duty of the Turf Program Specialist is to mix, store, and apply pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides through sprays, dusts, vapors, soil incorporation, or chemical application on trees, shrubs, and lawns. They will adhere to regulations regarding application and storage of chemicals. The Turf Program Specialist will maintain spraying equipment and ensure mixing and storage areas are clean and neat. DUTIES
  • Communicate with Turf Management Supervisor regarding scheduling and scope of work for each property.
  • Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of equipment.
  • Possess or be able to obtain State Applicators Pesticide License within 90 days of employment.
  • Actively demonstrate, encourage, and model safety rules and guidelines in accordance with state and federal law, using PPE as required.
  • Take personal responsibility for safety every day and report any safety or hazard concerns to management immediately.
  • Promote a positive relationship with team members and management in all departments and divisions.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean DMV record if operating company vehicles.
  • Must be able to walk a minimum of five miles daily.
  • Ability to work assigned hours and show up on time.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be subjected to strenuous work, adverse weather conditions, as well as exposure to dirt, water, chemicals, and noise.
  • Ability to use upper body to work in various positions including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, squatting, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, pull and push material and equipment to complete assigned job.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Travel from main operations building to job sites in company truck and back daily
  • Perform various duties related to lawn care and turf IPM Programs.
  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of outdoor areas.
  • Use power tools and hand tools to perform landscaping tasks.
  • Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and other garden features.
  • Assist with landscape maintenance projects such as pruning, mulching, and fertilizing.
  • Operate irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants. Qualifications
  • Previous experience in chemical applications for turf/ ornamental care and groundskeeping required.
  • Familiarity with power tools and hand tools used in landscaping and Turf Management.
  • Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and practices.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.
