Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail oriented, thoughtful team member for our family owned and operated funeral home. The successful candidate will work in a progressive, forward thinking, fast paced environment where we serve approximately 300 families per year. We are members of Selected Independent Funeral Home, the Life Celebration Community, have an onsite crematory, and utilize Passare for data keeping. You will have all the necessary tools to succeed in a professional and thoughtful workplace. Directors take one night of call per week and every other weekend on call, averaging 6 nights on call per month. The average work week is 45 hours. Duties Oversee funeral arrangements, body preparation including transfers, embalming, dressing, casketing, cosmetizing. Direct funeral services, visitations, fraternal services. Oversee event planning for funeral services, memorials, and related gatherings to ensure smooth execution Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing family needs promptly, empathetically, and professionally Manage sales activities related to funeral merchandise, pre-arrangements, and aftercare services Maintain accurate records of all services provided, including documentation of sanitation procedures and cosmetology treatments Experience Valid state license as a Funeral Director with proven experience in funeral directing and related responsibilities Excellent communication skills are required Knowledge with Microsoft programs, Google calendar, and other office systems will be necessary for success in this position. Experience providing bereavement support with sensitivity and professionalism Strong background in event planning for funerals or memorial services Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to health guidelines Excellent customer service skills with a focus on compassionate communication Work in an incredibly supportive team environment across our three locations in central Indiana that serve a wide variety of communities and religious backgrounds.
Pay:
$52,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
