Job Description

Category Schools - Music Therapist Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing therapeutic music interventions as a full-time Music Therapist for a 12-week leave of absence coverage. This rewarding opportunity will allow you to utilize your expertise in music therapy, fostering personal growth, self-expression, and social development among students in an educational setting.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) or eligibility for certification Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment preferred Ability to assess individual student needs and develop appropriate, goal-oriented music therapy interventions Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and multidisciplinary team processes
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver direct and group music therapy services to students as outlined in IEPs and treatment plans Collaborate with school staff, classroom teachers, and other therapy providers to support student goals Adapt music-based activities and interventions to meet the diverse developmental and cultural needs of students Document student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed Provide consultative support to staff and families regarding the benefits and implementation of music therapy Participate in team meetings and support a positive learning environment for all students This contract position offers the chance to work closely with a supportive educational team, put your creativity to work every day, and make a real difference during a critical period for students and faculty.
