Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) to provide high-quality patient care on a PRN (as-needed) basis across various clinical settings. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with the ability to support patient recovery and rehabilitation through effective therapy techniques. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work flexibly in inpatient, outpatient, home health, and skilled nursing facility environments, contributing to personalized care plans that promote optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs across diverse settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and home health environments. Utilize specialized techniques including trigger point therapy to alleviate pain and improve mobility. Monitor and document patient progress accurately, adjusting interventions as directed by supervising therapists. Educate patients and their families on physiotherapy exercises, injury prevention, and recovery strategies to foster active participation in their rehabilitation process. Support discharge planning efforts by preparing patients for transition from therapy services to independent or assisted living environments. Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment, adhering strictly to infection control protocols and safety standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care that addresses physiological, orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, and acute care needs. Requirements Valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in accordance with state regulations. Proven experience working in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health settings with a focus on orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, or acute care. Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and physiotherapy principles. Proficiency in applying therapeutic techniques such as trigger point therapy and other manual therapy modalities. Familiarity with developing and following detailed care plans tailored to individual patient conditions. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations including children and elderly patients. Prior experience supporting discharge planning processes and managing complex cases involving multiple healthcare disciplines is preferred.
