About the Role As a Special Needs Caregiver on the Finding Trusted Care platform, you'll have the opportunity to provide personalized support to individuals with specific challenges. Whether assisting with daily routines such as (meal prep, light housekeeping, bathing, changing and laundry), transportation, social engagement, or skill development, you'll play an essential role in helping families create safe, supportive, and empowering environments for their loved ones. Who We're Looking For About the

Position:

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable caregiver to assist a paraplegic individual with daily living activities. This role requires someone attentive, patient, and comfortable providing hands-on support in both the home and community.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist with physical movement and mobility need Operate a Hoyer lift by yourself (training preferred, but can be provided if needed) Support daily stretching routines Monitor and check blood sugar levels; must have an understanding of diabetes/insulin care Assist with medication reminders Help with dressing and bathing Provide support with daily tasks such as laundry and light household duties Assist with meal preparation and feeding when needed Accompany client into the community and to daily activities (including transportation to the mosque) Drive accessible wheelchair van (Chrysler minivan provided)

Additional Details:

Client uses medical marijuana; caregiver must be comfortable in this environment Client has a catheter, but caregiver is not responsible for catheter care. There are four family members in the home; must be comfortable working in a family environment

Qualifications:

Experience in caregiving, LPN, or similar role preferred Basic knowledge of diabetes management (blood sugar checks, insulin awareness) Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility Valid driver's license and clean driving record Reliable, respectful, and attentive to individual needs Comfortable working in a home setting with family present
