Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs and physical examinations, to inform care plans. Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety. Manage IV infusions and catheter care with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Document all patient interactions and treatments thoroughly using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth. Assist with complex procedures including wound suturing, tube feeding management, and ventilator support in acute care or long-term settings. Conduct triage assessments over the phone or in person to prioritize urgent needs and coordinate appropriate care pathways. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and post-acute care strategies to optimize patient outcomes. Skills Proven experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal, or individuals with developmental disabilities. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and CPT coding for accurate documentation and billing. Skilled in using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth for efficient recordkeeping. Experience in specialized areas such as critical care (ICU), emergency medicine (ER), hospice care, or trauma centers (Level I/II Trauma Center). Competence in performing invasive procedures like phlebotomy, venipuncture, spinal taps, or PICC line management with sterile technique. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments including urgent care, medical-surgical units, or outpatient clinics. Excellent patient assessment skills combined with a compassionate approach to senior care, dementia/memory care, Alzheimer's disease management and behavioral health support.
