Job Description

Job Description Provide holistic patient care service as a member of the primary care team following established standards and practices. Perform routine tasks necessary for efficient patient care and assist providers as needed. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assess medical and medical educational needs of patients.
  • Assist the provider.
  • Greet patients.
  • Take vital signs, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration.
  • Assist in examination and with diagnostic procedures (i.e. PAPs, EMB).
  • Perform laboratory and diagnostic procedures as ordered (i.e. venipunctures, urinalysis, hemoglobin, glucose assessments and EKGs).
  • Provide treatments as ordered (i.e., aerosols treatments, immunizations, injections, ear syringing).
  • Perform procedures as instructed, dressing wounds, and staple removal.
  • Perform patient screenings and intakes.
  • Set up exam room for patient visit.
  • Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Posts tests and examination results.
  • Make provider aware of abnormal tests and examination results.
  • Maintains exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials.
  • Ensures cleanliness of exam rooms.
  • Answer questions from patients.
  • Responsible for patient triaging and inquiries both in person and via telephone.
  • Perform in-house lab test (i.e. Strep, Flu, UA)
  • Refer patients to the providers when unable to assist them with their questions.
  • Assist patients in needing medications assistance
  • Responsible for monthly reports/logs as assigned (i.e., immunization tracking)
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as assigned or requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
  • Handles confidential matters concerning clinic policies and practices in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality.
  • Maintains infection control within the center.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Update care plans
  • Use Workflows you were trained on.
Attendance and Punctuality Experience/Education:
One or more years of nursing experience preferable in a center/clinic setting. Skilled in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of nursing to provide on-going patient care. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Possession of an Oklahoma State Licensed Practical Nurse license, in good standing with the Oklahoma Board of Nursing and CPR certification required. Possess Knowledge of nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care
Other Skills:
Open minded and non-judgmental. Commitment to working with uninsured; Ability to maintain quality control standards. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and make rational decisions. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. Ability to communicate clearly. Possess basic computer skills. Willingness to work with an interdisciplinary health team and culturally diverse underserved patient populations. Self-motivated and able to survive the pressures and long hours of nursing practice, and marginalized emotional stability. Willingness to study throughout your career to keep up with nursing advances is a must.
