WHAT DO SCHOOL

LPNs DO? Float between assigned buildings to assist School Nurse (RN) with students and/or staff Provide first aid care to students and staff as assigned Administer testing and medication to staff and/or students Assist School Nurse (RN) in maintaining health records

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High School Diplomas or equivalent education is required Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of IL Ability to pass a fingerprint criminal and DCFS background check. Considerable knowledge of medical disorders and treatments, especially as it relates to children and adolescents Considerable knowledge of child growth and development Working knowledge of public health problems and procedures for treatment in coordination with other health and social service agencies Working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting the delivery of school health service
