Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' well-being in a dynamic educational environment this summer. An experienced and compassionate nurse is needed for a summer school ESY (Extended School Year) program. The assignment runs from July 1, 2026, through August 6, 2026, with hours from 9:00 am to 2:45 pm, Monday through Thursday. This short-term position is located in the Cambridge, MA area.
Qualifications:
Valid Massachusetts RN or LPN license required Prior experience as a nurse in a school or pediatric setting highly desirable Strong assessment, triage, and medication administration skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working with students of diverse backgrounds and needs
Responsibilities:
Provide direct nursing care, including first aid, chronic disease management, and medication administration to students per physician orders and school protocols Respond calmly and effectively to health emergencies within the school environment Monitor and document student health concerns and immunization compliance Maintain clear, accurate, and timely health records Communicate and collaborate with school staff, students, and families to promote student safety and well-being Educate students and staff as needed on hygiene, illness prevention, and other relevant health topics Support daily health room operations and assist with any additional duties as assigned by school leadership Enjoy the chance to make a genuine impact for students over the summer, working a consistent daytime schedule that allows for evenings and weekends free.
