• Full-time Voted "Best of SLO" for three consecutive years, The Villages at The Palms is an independent living retirement community seeking an organized and enthusiastic problem solver to join our Life Enrichment Team.

The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the development and execution of a robust Life Enrichment Program that enhances seniors' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being. This role assists in creating, scheduling and delivering meaningful and engaging activities. Programs include art classes by local artists, film lectures by Cal Poly professors, educational speakers, support groups, cultural and nature-based outings, and parties with live music. In addition to building strong relationships with our residents, the Life Enrichment Assistant supports partnerships within the greater SLO community. This role requires creativity and administrative skills, paired with curiosity and compassion. The Life Enrichment Assistant's time is divided between behind-the-scenes planning and day-to-day facilitation of activities. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute activities, outings, and special events Develop, publish and post monthly activities calendars and flyers Create expense reports and check requests Design flyers for internal marketing on Canva Collaborate with Marketing team to capture content for promotional use Research entertainers, speakers, and instructors Accompany outings and support on-site events Support resident engagement, committees, and community involvement Coordinate volunteers Qualifications Strong computer skills, including experience with Canva, a must Organization and communication skills Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects to completion in a fast-paced environment Creative, solution-based problem solver Positive, observant and diplomatic personality Experience in senior living, recreation, event planning, or related field preferred College Degree preferred Must be able to lift 20 pounds, walk and stand for long periods of time
