Job Description
Company Overview Tidewater Orthopaedics is dedicated to providing the highest level of specialized orthopaedic care. Our team of expert physicians focuses exclusively on orthopaedic injuries and conditions, ensuring patients receive precise and comprehensive treatment tailored to their needs. Overview The Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist / Medical Assistant is responsible for providing clinical support services to physicians and advanced practice providers, including performing limited scope diagnostic radiographic procedures, assisting with patient care, and supporting daily clinic operations. This role ensures high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with applicable regulatory and safety standards. Radiologic Technologist Duties Perform limited scope radiographic examinations as ordered by providers and within state licensure guidelines. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining processes and positioning patients appropriately. Operate radiographic equipment safely and effectively while following radiation safety protocols. Maintain accurate imaging documentation and ensure proper image quality. Follow infection control and OSHA standards related to radiology services. Assist with maintaining radiology equipment and supplies. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards. Medical Assistant Duties Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain/document vital signs, medical histories, medications, and chief complaints. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare and clean exam rooms and clinical equipment. Perform clinical tasks including injections, splinting, dressing changes, durable medical equipment application, and specimen collection as permitted by training and policy. Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Provide patient education and discharge instructions as directed by providers. Participate in the instruction and evaluation of and work with Radiologic Technology students. Communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates Performing for or working directly with the public Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Years of Experience:
1 year experience in Medical Assistant role preferredEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an accredited Limited Scope Radiologic Technology program required.License, Certificate Or Registration:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT),Medical Assistant Certification Additional Information:
BLS Certification Physical Demands Frequently standing, walking, and sitting. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear. Ability to pull, lift, carry, and push greater than 150lbs repetitively. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus.Pay:
