) We are looking for Experienced Cooks to become an integral part of our team!
The Role:
Zesty Olives is sseeking a talented Line Cooks to join a fun, culinarily focused, family oriented team that promotes an unrelenting passion for the guest.
SOME ESSENTIAL WORK SKILLS
A minimum of 2 years experience in kitchen position. Ability to multitask and perform required tasks in a rapid and organized manner. Be able to understand and communicate in English. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time. Effective oral communication skills and the ability to work as a team player. Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform. Must display the ethical and professional standards set forth by the Management and Ownership.
Cook Roles and Responsibilities:
Prepare a variety of meats, fish, poultry, vegetables and other food items for cooking on grills, oven, stove, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment. Assume 100% responsibility for quality of products served. Know and comply consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures. Maintain complete knowledge of all respective menu items, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, and texture, serving temperatures, portion size, garnish and method of presentation. Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period. Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications. Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment. Prepare items for cooking by portioning, seasoning and/or marinating. Follow proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes. Handle, store and rotate all products properly. Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed. Close or open the kitchen properly and follow the opening or closing checklist for the kitchen. Must be able to work flexible shifts AM and PM, weekends and all holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
