Line Cook Lighthouse Point Yacht Club Lighthouse Point, FL Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $21 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Food production Customer service Restaurant experience Food Handler Certification Full Job Description Overview This position will be responsible for cooking and preparing a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces and stocks using a variety of equipment and utensils according to the daily prep list. General Duties Prepares items according to standard recipes. Coordinates and times orders with other kitchen operations. Requisitions items needed to produce menu items. Ensure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitary. Sets-up, maintains and breaks down prep cook station. Covers, dates and neatly stores all leftover products that are re-usable. Makes recommendations for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the line prep area and equipment. Close the kitchen properly using the closing checklist. Assist with other duties as needed Experience
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen or culinary setting required
  • Knowledge of food safety, knife handling, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during high-volume service
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Familiarity with sauté techniques and evening service flow preferred
  • Experience preparing meals in private clubs, resorts, or fine dining establishments preferred
  • Understanding of member-first service culture and discretion in high-end environments
  • Ability to adapt to seasonal menus, special events, and banquet service This job description may not be all-inclusive, and employees are expected to perform all other duties as assigned and directed by management.   • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often 6-10 hours per shift
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of items up to 50 pounds
  • Repetitive motions, including chopping, stirring, and plating
  • Exposure to high heat, steam, and kitchen equipment hazards
  • Bending, reaching, and stooping throughout the shift
  • Manual dexterity and sensory acuity (sight, smell, taste, hearing) required for food preparation
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining focus and composure Must be at least 18 years old and able to work a flexible schedule, including day and evening shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Pay:
$18.00 - $21.00 per hour
