Job Details The award-winning Knightsbridge Restaurant Group which is owned and operated by a James Beard nominated restaurateur is currently conducting a search for a talented Line Cook. Candidate must have experience working in fine dining restaurants as a sous chef/executive sous chef. In this role, you will be working with a critically acclaimed Executive Chef. We take pride in being organized and disciplined, on being hardworking (no shortcuts here), on having great communication, and on having education and growth a pillar to our success. We like to hustle and help each other get better every day and to make our restaurant one of the best in D.C. to work and in which to dine. While we do take our jobs seriously, we do so with a lighthearted touch to make the days fun as well as productive. Two (2) years experience in a structured kitchen environment. Classic training, Understanding of fundamental cooking techniques: Sous Vide, Blanching, Slow Cooking, Pasta Preparation and Cooking, Solid Knife Skills, FIFO, Food Handlers Certified. Willing to clean on a nightly basis and want to work in a positive and encouraging environment. Competitive pay with work experience and craftsmanship Previous experience in a fine dining restaurant preferred Must be able to communicate effectively with his/her managers and his/her teammates Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment throughout the shift in accordance with Health Department and restaurant standards. Able to prepare and execute mise en place fully for your station Maintain the high standards established by the Executive Chef Must be able to follow instructions during service from Chef throughout the service.
