Role & Responsibilities As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent food quality and ensuring smooth kitchen operations.Your day-to-day duties will include:
Station Setup & Prep:
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, portioning meat, or preparing sauces) before the start of each shift.Order Execution:
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion.Recipe Adherence:
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications exactly as set by our Kitchen Manager.Sanitation & Safety:
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workspace at all times. Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.Inventory Management:
Properly store, label, and rotate food items in coolers and freezers using the FIFO (First-In, First-Out) method. Notify management when stock is low.Team Collaboration:
Answer, report, and follow instructions from the Lead Line Cooks or Kitchen Manager. Communicate effectively with front-of-house and back-of-house staff to ensure smooth service.Closing Duties:
Clean down the line, equipment, and prep areas at the end of the shift. Safely store leftover ingredients.Requirements / What
We're Looking For Requirements To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a strong work ethic, a passion for food, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.Experience:
Proven commercial kitchen experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Restaurant Cook.Culinary Knowledge:
Solid understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.Speed & Accuracy:
Ability to execute assigned tasks with speed, precision, and a high standard of quality under pressure.Team-Oriented:
A cooperative attitude with the ability to communicate effectively and support fellow staff members during high-volume services.Safety Certifications:
Familiarity with industry best practices for food safety and sanitation. A current Food Handler's Card or ServSafe certification is highly preferred.Physical Stamina:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (often 8+ hours) in a kitchen environment.Physical Strength:
Ability to regularly lift, bend, reach, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.Availability:
Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by business operations.Education:
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; a degree or certificate from a culinary school is a strong plus.
