Job Description
At Apple Holler, we take pride in serving up delicious, quality food in a welcoming atmosphere. As a line cook, you'll be an essential part of the team, helping to create meals that keep our guests coming back. You'll work alongside a great crew, learn new skills, and have the chance to get creative with seasonal dishes. There's nothing better than seeing guests enjoy a meal you helped prepare!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Cook and present high-quality dishes efficiently. Check food temperatures and quality to ensure perfect preparation. Prepare fresh ingredients according to recipes and menu guidelines, weighing and measuring ingredients accurately for cooking. Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly. Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized workspace, including surfaces, storage areas, and food handling. Complete prep work and side tasks as needed. Label, date, and store all food items according to safe food-handling guidelines. Serve food in line with the establishment's standards, ensuring it is served at the correct temperature for both appeal and taste. Use food preparation tools according to manufacturer's instructions. Close the kitchen properly, following the designated closing checklist for stations. Always follow safe and hygienic food handling practices, returning used food prep utensils to the appropriate cleaning areas. Assist kitchen staff with other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager. Clean and sanitize the kitchen before and after shifts, including refrigerators and storage rooms. Operate and maintain all kitchen appliances safely. Perform record-keeping duties and generate reports as required. Report any unforeseen issues, maintenance needs, or faulty equipment to the manager. Foster positive relationships with staff, guests, and supervisors. Carry out any additional tasks requested by supervisors or managers.What We're Looking For:
Someone with culinary training and/or education. Strong teamwork skills and excellent attention to detail. Positive attitude and friendly, outgoing personality. Previous kitchen experience required, including operating equipment such as charbroiler, grill, deep fryer, pizza oven, and more. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to perform tasks with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and follow-through while maintaining courtesy and a cooperative attitude. Punctual and reliable attendance. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with both team members and customers. Proper food safety certification, in accordance with legal requirements. Ability to cook and prepare menu items according to management's standards. Stock and maintain adequate food supplies on the line. Efficiently prep and portion food. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized work area. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods. High level of professionalism in all aspects of work.
