Responsibilities Prepare ingredients and assist in the assembly of dishes according to menu specifications and recipes Cook food items with precision, ensuring proper temperature, presentation, and quality standards are met Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent contamination, cross contact, food allergies and ensure freshness Assist the chef and help with dining room, carry-out, catering orders and special event meal preparations as needed Serve food efficiently and courteously to guests or team members, maintaining a positive attitude at all times Experience Previous experience in a full-service restaurant is highly desirable Hands-on kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred and will help drive your starting hourly rate Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety practices is essential Familiarity with cleaning, kitchen stations, meal preparation, food prep and food handling procedures enhances your fit for this role Excellent knife skills and proficiency in basic culinary tasks are advantageous Experience in catering or large-scale food service operations will set you apart A background in the food industry with a focus on quality, efficiency, and teamwork will help you succeed, earn bonus and grow.
