POSITION SUMMARY
The Waves Pub & Grill Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting menu items with consistency, speed, and quality in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This position plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for guests by executing food to Heidel House standards while maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen. Waves Pub & Grill is a high-energy, guest-focused restaurant serving lunch, dinner, late-night dining, and seasonal volume. This role requires teamwork, urgency, attention to detail, and pride in every plate leaving the kitchen. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCulinary Execution & Quality Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards. Operate grill, fryer, sauté, pantry, and prep stations as assigned. Ensure all food is prepared and plated consistently, accurately, and in a timely manner. Maintain awareness of dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests. Assist with daily specials, seasonal features, and menu changes as directed by kitchen leadership. Maintain proper holding temperatures and food quality throughout service. Prep, Organization & Efficiency Complete daily prep lists and station setup before service. Portion, label, stock, and rotate products using FIFO procedures. Keep stations fully stocked, clean, and organized during service. Communicate product shortages or equipment concerns promptly to leadership. Assist with receiving, storing, and organizing deliveries when needed. Service & Teamwork Work collaboratively with cooks, dishwashers, servers, bartenders, and managers to ensure smooth operations. Maintain a positive attitude and professional communication during busy periods. Support banquet or Oakwood kitchen operations when business demands require. Help create a kitchen culture built on accountability, teamwork, urgency, and respect. Cleanliness & Food Safety Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department standards. Maintain clean workstations, equipment, coolers, and storage areas throughout the shift. Properly clean and shut down kitchen equipment at the end of service. Report maintenance or safety concerns immediately. Follow all Heidel House kitchen procedures and safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous line cook or kitchen experience preferred; restaurant, hotel, or resort experience a plus. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment. Experience with grill, fryer, sauté, or prep stations preferred. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently under pressure. Reliable attendance and strong teamwork skills required. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
SCHEDULE
Flexible scheduling available including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Seasonal and summer business levels may require additional hours. Weekend and evening availability strongly preferred.
