Job Description
Job Overview Vermont State Bank is seeking a courteous, highly motivated Loan Clerk that can multi-task and assist customers and potential customers with their borrowing needs. This individual is expected to deliver exceptional and efficient customer service in a confidential manner. Role:
Responsible for receiving, reviewing, processing and coordinating loan functions for customers in person, via phone, and through the mail. Performs a broad range of lending functions such as loan interviews, loan workups, loan closings and filing. Answers customer's questions regarding Bank services. Performs specific assigned side-jobs and assists other employees with duties as required. Serves customers promptly and professionally.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist customers with loan applications. Compute debt ratios, net disposable income and unsecured debt ratios. Determine value of collateral. Notify applicants of loan decisions and requests additional information when necessary. Coordinate and process loan closings. Ensure that each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved and disbursed. Calculate terms, finance charges and insurance on loans for proper disclosure. Assist in servicing loans, including collections and foreclosures. Ensure that lending operations are conducted in accordance with established policies and are legally compliant. Answer questions about products and services and resolve problems that are within their authority to resolve. Responsible for maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with department personnel and management Perform other related duties as required or assigned.Expectations:

Troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the customer. Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Keep your work surface and department area organized and tidy. Do your part to maintain shared areas of the Bank including the kitchen. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names. Maintain a positive attitude and approach problems as opportunities for improvement; to approach each new assigned task with enthusiasm; to take responsibility for actions or errors.
