Duties Safely operate a range of commercial trucks including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers to transport materials within local routes. Load and unload cargo efficiently using manual lifting techniques and mechanical equipment; ensure secure placement of loads for safe transit. Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to verify mechanical soundness and compliance with safety regulations. Utilize your mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues and perform basic maintenance or report repairs needed. Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safe driving practices on local roads and job sites. Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required during loading/unloading processes; operate specialized equipment like front loaders or other heavy machinery when necessary. Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery documentation, and communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates or delays. Skills Proven experience in commercial driving with a focus on local deliveries; familiarity with manual transmission preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge to identify vehicle issues early and support basic troubleshooting or maintenance. Experience operating various trucks such as front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely during loading/unloading activities while adhering to safety protocols. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; knowledge of local routes and traffic regulations. Competence in load securing techniques to prevent shifting or damage during transit.
