Local CDL Driver (Class A or B), Paid per Load

Job Overview Cairns Consulting is working with a local trucking company who needs professional CDL Drivers (Class A or B) for local, short-haul coal trucks. This role is paid per load with an increase at 3 months and again at 6 months. This is a permanent position with a mid-sized local company on daylight shift during weekdays.

Schedule :

Monday-Friday, optional Saturdays Local Work Home every day!

Shift :

Day shift, ~10 hour shifts

Pay :

25% per load with increases at 3 & 6 months Bi-weekly pay , direct deposit

Location:

Freeport, PA Responsibilities Safely operate a dump truck to transport coal within local routes while adhering to safety protocols. Completes all driver logs and related paperwork effectively and timely. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and report any mechanical issues promptly. Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and compliance within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Ability to drive through all weather, road and traffic conditions. Must be able to recognize, read and understand Hazardous Materials documents. Manage heavy lifting tasks associated with loading and unloading materials safely. Utilize mechanical knowledge for minor troubleshooting and basic vehicle maintenance when necessary. Follow all traffic laws and safety procedures to ensure the safety of oneself and others on the road. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B. Favorable driving record (MVR) Meets the minimum physical requirements stipulated in Section 391.41 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test as well as be subject to and pass random drug tests as required. Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with delivery or transportation roles involving heavy vehicles. Experience operating dump trucks is highly preferred. MSHA Training preferred Ability to perform manual lifting of heavy loads safely as needed. Familiarity with local traffic laws and DOT regulations governing commercial vehicle operation. Mechanical knowledge related to truck operation and basic maintenance.
