Job Description
Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator position has the responsibility for scheduling and coordinating inbound and outbound shipments of supplies and finished goods for Bowman Andros Products (BAP). In addition, the associate will keep accurate log books, communicate with carriers for pickups/deliveries, and track proof of deliveries made.Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Completes all Bills of Lading to customer specifications; Responsible for the appropriate maintenance and storage of the warehouse. Reviews Customs paperwork, ensuring accurate input to Company database. Communicates information regarding incoming and outgoing loads, deliveries and pickups to the drivers and appropriate BAP personnel, ensuring accurate and efficient flow of goods. Creates, maintains and appropriately distributes multiple records, reports, forms, files and logs in a timely manner as needed for regulatory and auditing purposes Responsible for checking in and logging driver's arrivals and pickups, and reviewing all driver paperwork for receiving accuracy as required by the BAP Auditing Standards. Reviews inventory against daily orders and communicates with Customer Service for efficient and accurate processing. Communicates with Customer Service regarding Quality holds, Inventory discrepancies, and other issues as they arise. Assists with inbound / outbound loads and schedules. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers, providing professional customer service support to vendors, carriers, freight holders, BAP associates and other departments to facilitate smooth receipt and delivery of goods and materials while handling issues in the best interest of both the customer and BAP. Check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct in advance of the date of processing. Review system orders daily for any needing urgent and/or prompt attention. Records and tracks all Warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) including but not limited to: efficiency and timeliness of picked and loaded orders, inbound and outbound trucking movement and processing, and other metrics as required. Verify all loads and equipment match Purchase Orders; follows company procedures and specifications to issue corrections when necessary prior to trucks leaving the Scale House both loaded and empty. Ensures all shipments conform to legal weight requirements. Establishes and maintains communication with apple drivers Communicate with and escalate issues to Management, Quality and/or Customer Service in the event of a missing or denied truck load, or as needed. Serve as back-up to the Outbound Supervisor as needed. Ensure all paperwork is consistent with the British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards. Continually observe for cross contamination or foreign objects. Provides guidance and assistance in training for other logistics employees. Other related duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High school diploma or GED. Regular and reliable attendance required. 2-4 years of dispatch experience. Knowledge ofDOT, OSHA
regulations and Food Safety guidelines as they apply to transportation of food, and Bowman Andros processing facilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Accuracy with detail, planning, organizing & efficiency. Excellent oral and written communication skills (For example, ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures. Must have ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customer, suppliers, manager and employees.) Excellent analytical and reasoning skills. (For example, must have ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.) Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime and Saturdays as needed. Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities change quickly. Willing to work as part of a team.Working Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Logistics Coordinator is required to work both in an office environment and outside. While performing the duties of this job, frequent sitting and standing is required, as well as regular exposure to outside weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat and/or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.Physical Demands:
