Job Description

Atlantic Building Components is a roof and floor truss manufacturing company that has been around since 1984. We are a very successful company with a proven track record of producing and delivering a high quality product on-time to our customers. We have 4 locations in the Southeast and cover all of North and South Carolina and into Georgia and Virginia. We are looking for a qualified Logistic / Production Planner to handle the production and logistic functions for our newest facility located in Fairmont, NC. This role is a very key role to the function of our company. This role will be establishing the production schedule of the plant and processing the daily shipping schedule and documents. The candidate will be trained on all computer programs used. The ideal candidate will strive to optimize throughput. The candidate will be well organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Strong communication and computer skills are very useful for the role.

Job Description:

The following activities will be the primary responsibility of the Shipping Coordinator. These activities will include but not limited to:

Retrieve all delivery tickets from the previous day and ensure all deliveries were made
if delivery was not made contact plant manager and cooperate logistics
Complete all deliveries in Project central
Ensure all driver schedules are managed and time off or call outs are communicated to plant manager and cooperate logistics
Daily review of the scheduled jobs to be shipped o Can any loads be combined? o Can we take multiple runs with same driver?
If loads can be combined notify corporate logistics and request additional loads
Developing daily delivery schedule for all drivers
10/11 hrs per driver daily
Review delivery locations taking into consideration o Lot locations o Delivery obstacles o Best path for delivery o Lot prep
Printing and creating all delivery packets
Printing directions for all deliveries
Delivering work orders and hardware requests to the hanger puller, LVL/I-joist/LVL cutter
Arranging delivery of the chip trailers
Arrange delivery of trucks to Penske/Ryder for maintenance issues
Final load inspections for all components (roofs, floors, LVLs, Rim board, I-joist, hardware)
Entering in projected delivery hours into project central
Assisting in driver break downs, towing assistance and on the road maintenance issues
Continuing to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the shipping process
Other duties management feels is within the sphere of work
Ensuring all permits are in compliance
Ensuring all IFTA stickers are up to date
Ensure all insurance and registration are up to date
