Job Description

The logistics scheduler is an execution role that assists the logistics team with scheduling shipments, facilitating indirect sourcing of transportation, and managing the day-to-day logistics relationship. This role will also support the implementation and ongoing handling of internal logistics programs, with responsibility for maintaining a positive relationship with customers and carriers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Filing past days BOLs Requesting shipping quotes for domestic and international shipments Scheduling shipments on the C.H. Robinson portal (Navisphere) Basic understanding of foreign trade requirements (invoices, SLI -Shipper's Letter of Instruction) Scheduling freight shipments on the FedEx web portal Understanding dimensional measurements and weight for shipments Understanding of freight service levels (NDA, 2DAY, priority, economy, etc) Preparing shipping documents, including BOL's, packing slips, crate/pallet labels Understanding close-out procedures in SAP using VA02 and VL02N transactions Possesses exemplary personal workflow processes and time management skills Ability to email and communicate effectively with internal and external customers Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures Perform special projects and complete other duties assigned or requested
Qualifications:
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping/logistics experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs that include but are not limited to: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook Knowledge and experience of SAP is desirable Must have highly developed organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet customer needs Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of associates and management Able to work in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail Self-Motivated person Problem solver
Education/Certification/Training:
High school Diploma or Equivalent Previous administrative experience is preferred Ability to work well in teams with staff and contractors from all departments
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and use hands to finger, handle, or touch; frequently required to push and pull. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, peripheral, and the ability to focus.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is in a typical office environment; occasionally exposed to noise, dust, and chemicals. Safety glasses/goggles must be worn at all times while in designated areas of the shop.
