  • Friday Job Description The Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in the seamless operation of receiving, order picking, and shipping products to both internal and external customers.
This position may involve operating forklifts, utilizing power hand tools, and the ability to lift items up to 40 pounds. A keen attention to detail and the ability to accurately perform computer-based transactions using standard warehouse software are essential. The Logistics Specialist supports daily activities and personnel within the Logistics Department, following the directives of the Logistics Manager and adhering to established procedures. Responsibilities Receive shipments of incoming materials. Load and unload trucks. Select appropriate packaging materials and containers per customer requirements. Route outgoing shipments using various methods. Complete necessary paperwork such as customs invoices, bills of lading, barcode labels, job pick lists, and manufacturing orders. Pull parts from stores and finished goods, ensuring inventory accuracy and traceability of lot numbers. Maintain shipment history files. Interface with Purchasing, Production Control, Program Management, and Scheduling to ensure timely material movement through the internal supply chain. Support Management as directed. Perform part marking and over-coating using Manufacturing Order instructions, Blueprints, and Desktop Instructions. Essential Skills Experience in logistics, receiving, inventory, shipping and receiving, order picking, and production. Ability to operate forklifts and RF scanners. Proficiency in data entry and material handling. Customer service-oriented approach. Strong skills in loading and unloading. Supply chain knowledge. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Motivated and dependable with strong attention to detail. Punctual and able to adapt to a flexible and demanding schedule, which may include short days, unscheduled overtime, or additional weekend shifts. Familiarity with Word, Excel, and keyboarding. Experience using hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, nail, and staple guns. Approved training in forklift operation. High school diploma or equivalent. Work Environment This position is based in a dynamic warehouse setting where safety is paramount. Employees may be required to work flexible shifts, including potential overtime and weekends. The role involves using various technologies and equipment such as forklifts, RF scanners, and power tools.
