Immediately Job Description Minuteman High School is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute English Language Arts Teacher for the remainder of the 2025/2026 school year.
Major Responsibilities:
Implement English/Language Arts lessons and Project-Based Learning activities from curriculum specifically designed to coincide with the Massachusetts State Frameworks and Common Core State Standards. Manage classroom affairs, adjust to various audiences and learning preferences, and promote a growth mindset. Apply relevant technologies to enhance teaching and learning. Attend staff, team, and IEP meetings and contribute to committees as required. Function as a member and work collaboratively with Minuteman educators and staff in order to integrate challenging technical concepts into a dynamic curriculum. Contribute to the design and implementation of curriculum and lessons that integrate ELA concepts with Career and Technical (CTE) disciplines. Assist the administration in implementing District goals and policies related to the educational and operational needs of the District. Maintain a professional demeanor. Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the building Principal or their designee.
Qualifications:
Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in English Grades 9-12 preferred. Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
Additional Requirements:
This position includes but is not limited to: walking around the school, observing students while they work in their program areas, standing for periods, occasionally lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds, reading documents, using a computer, listening and speaking, using office equipment, maintaining energy throughout the day, and handling stress effectively.
Terms of Employment:
Full-Time, School Calendar. Eligible for health, dental, and retirement benefits.
Effective Date of Employment:
Immediately - last day of school.

Compensation:
The salary for this position is $66,494 prorated to date of hire.
