Relion Insurance Solutions - 24 Westside Dr, Iowa City, IA 52246 Relion Insurance Solutions , an Agency Partner of ALKEME Insurance , is seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Loss Control Specialist to support clients and internal teams across our risk management and workplace safety services practice. This role is ideal for a risk management professional, safety consultant, or insurance loss control specialist who enjoys working directly with businesses to reduce workplace risk, strengthen safety programs, and support workers' compensation and commercial insurance initiatives. The Loss Control Specialist partners with client organizations, insurance carriers, and internal teams to develop and implement workplace safety programs, risk mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance initiatives. This role conducts site inspections, safety audits, training programs, and claims trend analysis to help organizations minimize risk and maintain safe work environments. As a trusted advisor to clients, you will provide practical guidance on OSHA compliance, workplace safety procedures, and insurance risk management best practices while helping organizations build strong safety cultures and improve overall loss performance. Company Perks 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision for employee-only plans PTO and company-paid holidays 401(k) plan with employer contribution Opportunities for career growth and professional development within a nationwide network Collaborative, high-energy work environment What You'll Do as the Loss Control Specialist Develop and implement workplace safety programs, loss control initiatives, and compliance resources, including safety manuals, HR policies, DOT compliance programs, and OSHA documentation. Conduct job site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Facilitate OSHA safety training, workplace safety education, and Forklift/Fork Truck certification programs for client organizations. Support workers' compensation and claims management efforts by analyzing loss trends, maintaining claims documentation, and assisting with experience modification (MOD) reviews. Maintain strong relationships with clients, insurance carriers, underwriters, and internal teams while documenting activities in the agency management system. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Safety Management, Occupational Health, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in loss control, workplace safety, risk management, or insurance safety consulting preferred. OSHA Trainer certification or ability to obtain certification. Knowledge of workers' compensation insurance, risk management programs, OSHA compliance, and workplace safety standards. Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and digital documentation systems. Willingness to travel within the region (up to ~100 miles a day) to support client visits, training sessions, and inspections. Why ALKEME?
