Low Voltage/Data Cable Technicians

Job Description:

We're hiring two (2) experienced Low Voltage/Data Cable Technicians for a project at the Fayette County Justice Center. This role involves installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling systems in a secure government facility. The start date is 05/11/2026 at 07:00 AM. The project is slated to last three (3) months.

Responsibilities:

Install, route, and secure Cat5e/Cat6 cabling throughout the facility Terminate cables using RJ45 connectors, patch panels, and keystone jacks Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams Label and test all cable runs using appropriate testing equipment Install support structures such as J-hooks, cable trays, and conduit Maintain a clean and organized job site Follow all safety standards and site-specific guidelines

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background check (required for site access) Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written) Proven experience with structured cabling installation Ability to work from ladders and lifts as needed Basic tools for low-voltage work (crimpers, testers, etc.) Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality Reliable transportation

Preffered:

Experience in government, courthouse, or secure facilities OSHA certification is a plus
