Coverage Area:

Typically within ~2 hours of Lafayette (daily travel as needed) Position Overview MP Baker Electric is expanding into Technology, Security, and Low-Voltage Systems , and we're hiring technicians who take pride in doing things the right way. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys clean installs, structured work, and modern systems —including video surveillance, access control, structured cabling, and network-connected technology. What You'll Work On IP video surveillance (cameras, servers, VMS/VSaaS platforms) Access control systems (panels, readers, REX devices, strikes, door contacts) Structured cabling & pathways (Cat6, J-hooks, tray, conduit coordination) Key Responsibilities Pull, route, label, terminate, and test cabling (Cat6 required; fiber is a plus) Install pathway infrastructure (J-hooks, cable tray, coordination with conduit work) Mount and finish devices cleanly and professionally (cameras, readers, contacts, REX) Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting:

• PoE and connectivity issues
• Device power/signal checks
• Basic IP/network validation Maintain a clean jobsite and communicate professionally with customers Document work performed (photos, device locations, punch list notes) Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and electricians to keep installs moving What Success Looks Like You produce clean, repeatable installs that look professional You show up prepared, dependable, and ready to work You communicate problems early and help solve them You respect customer facilities and take ownership of the end result Required Qualifications 1+ year experience in low-voltage, security, cabling, or telecom Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude may be considered.

Comfortable working on ladders/lifts and in active construction environments Ability to understand basic prints/layouts/scope documents Strong attention to detail (labels, terminations, device finishes) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Experience (Not Required) IP cameras: Axis, Hanwha, Bosch, etc.

VMS:
