LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) Port Chester, NY 10573 $38
- $46 an hour

- Part-time Cerebral Palsy of Westchester provides services to children and adults with all developmental disabilities including Autism, neurological impairments, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy and cerebral palsy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Medication Management A. Responsible for proper storage and maintenance of medications/narcotics/syringes. Maintain correct syringe count. B. Responsible for dispensing (and documenting) medications. Medical Treatment A. Handle daily medical problems. B. Provide emergency care when needed. D. Provide medical monitoring and documentation as per requests from residences (i.e. seizures, blood pressures, weights, temperatures, diets, water intake, etc.). E. Coordinate with residences/families regarding clients' medical problems/treatment.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with other staff, client residences and families, presenting ideas and information so that it is clear to the listener. Be able to negotiate differences and resolve problems within the Interdisciplinary Team. Use established inter-agency and inter-program channels of communication. Be able to accept correction and use supervision and training to learn new skills and enhance job performance. Be able to accept program changes and meet special program needs which may arise.Be dependable:

Licensed Practical Nurse. Experience with developmentally disabled population.QUALIFICATIONS

Use utmost sensitivity in all contacts regarding consumers and their families. 3. Maintain the utmost professionalism when contacting other professionals and during all meetings.LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to employees questions. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and smell. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must have the ability to transfer individuals independently, with a mechanical lift or with the assistance of another staff person. This position is not limited to those duties listed in the job description. Duties and responsibilities may be changed, expanded, reduced or removed to meet the business needs of the agency.Job Type:
