Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A pharmacy role is available on a contract basis in Williamstown, NJ, offering an opportunity to engage in Long Term Care pharmacy services with flexible day, evening, and rotating weekend shifts. This position requires a proactive approach, as the client works with multiple vendors and updates may be delayed, so immediate availability in the area is highly advantageous. Responsibilities include accepting and dispensing prescription medications, monitoring patient compliance and potential overuse, and ensuring all medication supplies comply with legal standards. The role demands maintaining accurate, confidential patient records and advising patients on medication usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions. Additional duties involve providing specialized patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol management, and training patients in using medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. The pharmacist will also prepare compounded medications, including sterile solutions, supervise pharmacy support staff, and maintain adequate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Close collaboration with healthcare professionals including physicians and nurses is essential to identify and resolve drug-related problems effectively.

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree Active New Jersey pharmacy license Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy settings Strong knowledge of medication dispensing and patient counseling Leadership skills to supervise pharmacy staff efficiently Ability to compound medications and prepare sterile solutions Excellent communication and teamwork abilities This contract opportunity lasts approximately eight weeks, with a start date as soon as possible.
