Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A staffing opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical services in a long-term care setting. This contract role offers a chance to apply your clinical knowledge, counseling skills, and regulatory compliance expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment. Approximately 8 weeks
Shifts:
Day shifts with some evenings and rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications accurately while ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify any over-usage patterns to promote safe pharmaceutical care. Maintain confidential and precise patient records and pharmacy files. Counsel patients on medication administration, potential side effects, and drug interactions. Provide additional patient services including smoking cessation programs, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management. Educate patients on proper use and care of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions in compliance with established procedures. Supervise and coordinate efforts of pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks. Collaborate closely with healthcare providers including physicians and nurses to identify and resolve drug-related problems.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Active New Jersey pharmacy license. Experience in long-term care pharmacy preferred. Strong communication and patient counseling skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with all pharmacy laws and regulations. This assignment requires candidates who can start immediately due to the fast-paced nature of client procedures.
